Officers were called shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon to the intersection of West Ox Road and Tilton Valley Drive near Penderwood, according to police.
The cyclist, only described as an adult male, was found suffering from critical injuries and was taken by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Detectives were at the scene of the incident as 1 p.m., shutting down the southbound West Ox Road lanes at Ox Hill.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
